Not only do we have 24 flavors of homemade gelatos along with 10 flavors of homemade Italian ice, but we also have a do-it-yourself frozen yogurt bar!
Our frozen yogurt bar is unique as you pay by the cup rather than by the weight, so there are no surprises. You can throw out the scale and build your own frozen yogurt masterpiece.
We offer multiple dairy-free options. We carry between 4-6 homemade sorbets, 10 dairy-free Italian ice options, and we now have Pineapple Dole Whip in our do-it-yourself frozen yogurt machines. Whether it is a preference, a dietary restriction or an allergy, we have a dairy-free option to please everyone!
We are also now offering sugar-free gelatos. After multiple requests from our valued customers, we now carry a sugar-free Chocolate and sugar-free Vanilla gelato. Ask your server for a sample!
How It's Made
At Froze Zone, we look to give you not only a five-star experience, but also five-star flavors. We are a locally owned business specializing in homemade frozen desserts. We use high-quality ingredients from Italy to craft our homemade gelato. Gelato is like ice cream, just better! In fact, gelato uses more milk and less cream than ice cream. This makes for a product that’s lower in fat and cholesterol than ice cream. Gelato is also churned at a slower rate than ice cream, causing it to have less air, which in turn makes for a richer, creamier product. Because of this, gelato tends to be more filling. All of our gelato, sorbets, and Italian ice are made right in the back of our West Boylston store daily!
About The Owner
Froze Zone started as an idea from a young man, who was tired of going to frozen yogurt shops and building a fantastic cup of frozen yogurt, piled high with toppings, fruit, whipped cream and a cherry on top - only to be shocked at the price when placing it on the scale. Anthony Surabian of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts decided to open his own Frozen Yogurt store, where there were no surprises when it came time to pay. With a set price cup, customers could pile their frozen yogurt and toppings as high as they’d like without worrying about if it’d break the bank. But Anthony didn’t want to stop there. He wanted something more to make his store different. He wanted to pay homage to his mother’s Italian roots, and decided to pair homemade gelato with his frozen yogurt business. In a town full of ice cream shops, Anthony’s business stands apart. He started small, with just 12 flavors of gelato. Seeing its popularity, he expanded to 24 flavors. Now, most of the customer base at Froze Zone rave about the homemade gelato, made fresh right in the back of the West Boylston store by owner, Anthony and his wife Caitlin. With ingredients sourced from Italy, Anthony and Caitlin work to bring the freshest and most authentic gelato right here in Massachusetts. You can find their homemade gelato in their West Boylston location with flavors ranging from Limoncello to Ferrero Rocher, as well as in a booth inside the Worcester Public Market. Froze Zone in West Boylston also offers 10 dairy-free Italian ice flavors, made in-house by the couple as well. Sugar-free options are also now available, so there is a little something for everyone!
The pair has also expanded into the catering business, catering under the name Iovanni’s Gelato, once again paying homage to his mother’s Italian roots, using her maiden name. Catering is available for corporate events, bridal showers, bar mitzvahs, weddings, and more. Because what goes better with cake than ice cream?
